About Us
Our Story
Mooch began at a kitchen table in Ely, Cambridgeshire, with a simple idea: create beautiful, useful pieces for the home that are kind to the planet, not just pretty on a shelf. What started as weekend experiments with Jesmonite and colour pigments quickly turned into a small-batch studio and a growing community of people who love thoughtful, sustainable design.
Every pour, swirl, and sanded edge is done by hand. Each bowl, tray, and coaster has its own little quirks, and we think that’s where the magic lives.
What We Make
We specialise in handcrafted Jesmonite homeware: trays, bowls, coasters and trinket dishes designed to be used and loved every day. Our pieces are:
Made in small batches in our Ely studio
Cast from Jesmonite, a more eco-conscious alternative to traditional resin
Sealed for everyday use, from keys and jewellery to candles and coffee cups
The goal is simple: elevate your everyday moments – your morning coffee, your bedside table, your hallway drop-spot – with pieces that feel special but still effortless.
Our Values
Mooch is built on three core values:
Sustainability first: We choose materials carefully, pour in small batches to reduce waste, and reuse, recycle or repurpose wherever we can.
Handmade over mass-made: No factories, no conveyor belts – just slow, intentional making.
Thoughtful details: From colour palettes to packaging, we want every part of your order to feel considered and personal.
You might notice tiny variations in pattern or tone. That’s not a flaw – it’s a reminder that your piece was made by human hands, not machines.
Behind the Brand
Hi, I’m Sue, the maker behind Mooch. I’ve always loved home décor, styling cosy corners, and hunting for pieces that feel “just right” but don’t cost the earth – literally or financially.
Mooch is my way of bringing that feeling to you: creating calming, practical homeware that fits seamlessly into real family homes, not just Pinterest boards.
When I’m not pouring Jesmonite, you’ll usually find me on a walk around Ely planning new collections in my head, packing up orders, or chatting with you over on Instagram.
For the Home You Actually Live In
Mooch is for the keys dropped as you rush out the door, the jewellery you take off at the end of a long day, the candle you light when the house finally goes quiet. Our pieces are designed to be part of those everyday rituals – to make your home feel a little more “you”.
If you like slow-made, sustainable homeware with a soft, minimal aesthetic, you’re in the right place.
